Why Blue Tiger Counselling?

There are two answers to this. The short one is: I like tigers.

The slightly longer answer is: even though tigers fascinate me, it makes me sad to see them in a zoo, where they are kept in a cage, even if it is a decent size.

Similarly to these trapped tigers, people like you and I sometimes find ourselves in a “cage” – a situation in which we feel trapped and don’t know how to get out. We might even have – unwittingly – created this cage ourselves, through choices that we made in the past, that possibly felt right at the time, yet which now have left us in a situation where we cannot see a way out.

Maybe, at times, we might actually do see a way out. We might even find the door of our cage wide open – yet going through it might terrify us, because we don’t know what is waiting for us on the other side. So instead of taking a risk and stepping out of our misery, we stay where we are, thinking it’s better do a deal with the devil we know rather than face what we don’t know.
